to be remembered by the world
remembered and taught to be remembered.
would it suffice?
to be put down beside a date
a narrative
to remain, in perpetuum.
would it suffice?
to be along Cameras aflame
in a guise among a watermark
‘getty images’
would it suffice?
to be existent, evermore.
to animate my every desire
every inhalation embracing the exhalation.
everything, but your own.
would it suffice?
to suffice, without my love,
is a delusion
a remote reverie
through seraphic horizons.
as the worlds split apart.
you, would suffice.
Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.:
The poem talks about the undying need to be remembered by all and whether being remembered would ever suffice. whether being put down in the books of history to make a mark forever would ever suffice. or whether having the fame allowing you to have your pictures online under the watermark getty images would even suffice. The poem then goes forward to saying that nothing would ever suffice to being present without her "love". the poem says that if it were to ever suffice without the love interest, it is merely a delusion. the poem then concludes by saying that they alone will suffice over everything.
Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.:
Honestly, it was everything I felt when I could finally be with someone I had been hoping to be with for years. i had taken inspiration from the core theme of the book- the fault in our stars by john green. I used a thesaurus to better my word choices at certain places.
Why did you choose to write this poem?:
In a world where everyone is in a race to be remembered by the world, we often forget that you really need one person to be genuinely content. our subconscious doesn't want to be loved widely, rather profoundly.
Do you have any tips or anything to share with the youth writers who may be reading this?: Just let your thoughts flow first. then better your world choices
