The Earth is beautiful
and she knows it
She shows off her breathtaking landscapes
Her curves of mountains and her flow of rivers
While we like to act as if she is trash
By burning her beauty to the ashes
Trails of oil in her waters, moutains of plastics on her grounds - but
The Earth is beautiful and she knows it
She flings her beauty in our eyes
With every sunset and sunrise
The Earth is beautiful - and
We should know it

The meaning of this poem is rhat humans should take care of the Earth and realize the gravity of pollution. It's about being aware of the Earth's beauty and the importance of fighting climate change.
Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.:
My thought and writing process while writing this poem was to link the fact that the Earth is beautiful to the fact that everyone should be concerned with preserving its beauty, its biodiversity, etc... That is why I started with the fact that the Earth knows its beauty, and ended it with the fact that we should know it too.
Why did you choose to write this poem?:
I chose to write this poem while I was riding to school with my sisters. We noticed the breath-taking view of the sunrise through the car's window and I got inspired to write about it. I felt it was important to link it to an issue very relevant in today's society, which is climate change.
